Field Service Mobile App for a National HVAC Network

The challenge

Technicians worked in basements, plant rooms and remote sites where mobile data was unreliable or absent. Job cards were filled on paper, driven back to branch offices, and re-keyed by admin staff - creating an average nine-day gap between work completed and invoice raised. Nobody could see live job status.

What we built

We built an offline-first application with a local database as the primary store and a background sync engine that reconciles with the server whenever a connection appears. Technicians can open job cards, record readings, capture photographs, collect customer signatures and consume spare parts with no connectivity at all.

A conflict-resolution layer handles the case where a job is edited on the server and the device simultaneously. Supervisors get a live map view of technician locations and job progress, and the app pushes completed job data straight into the billing system.

The result

Billing moved from an average of nine days to the same day. First-time fix rate rose by 22 percent because technicians could see full asset history on site. Administrative data entry was eliminated entirely, releasing six full-time staff to higher-value work.
